Ab Chair Review

Many people who are looking for unique, effective ways to target their abdominal muscles have turned to the ab chair as their solution.  So, the question is - is the ab chair an effective, worthwile piece of fitness equipment?  In this ab chair review we will analyze and answer this question with the hope of helping you decide for yourself if it will be an effective tool to help you target your abs muscles, or if it is simply the latest ab machine fad.

First of all, you have to ask yourself if ab chairs offer anything that a simple sit-up or crunch exercise does not.  Usually with ab equipment, the 'extra' added is in terms of safety for your neck and back, along with helping you to target the muscles more directly and effectively.

In regards to these two benefits, the Abs chair exercises do a pretty good job. The exercises that you can do are more comfortable and allow you to concentrate very specifically on your abs muscles, which is great. In addition, the abdominal chair is very comfortable and does support your back and neck very effectively. Because you are sitting in a comfortable up-right position, there is not that stretching of your back and neck that occurs with a sit-up or even a crunch. Instead, you are pushing down with your abs and not lifting your upper body. So in these regards, ab chairs do a very good job at helping you achieve a good abdominal workout in your home gym.

The next measure of effectiveness is whether or not the ab roller chair is cost effective and space-saving effective. Obviously, sit ups and crunches don't cost anything, and they don't require any equipment that takes up space. The chair, on the other hand, does cost something, although the price isn't that bad. For example, you can purchase the ab chair 2 for under $100, which is a pretty good price given everything you get with it. So as far as the cost, it really isn't too bad. However, when it comes to space required this is probably the biggest issue with the machine. For only working one small muscle, this machine takes up a lot of space.

Overall, I would give the ab chair a 3 out of 5. It can be worth it if you have the space, the money, and are looking for a way to very specifically and safely target your abdominal muscles. However, I personally think you would probably be better off simply purchasing an exercise ball and learning how to work out properly with that.
