6000 Loan

Getting a 6000 loan can be a little more tricky than some might think, depending on what you are looking to borrow the money for.  If you are looking to take out a loan for 6000 to purchase a car then you won't have any problem at all (there are even some decent options for bad credit car loans, so you don't have to even have the best credit in the world).  However, if you are looking for a non-purpose loan then you may have a more difficult time. 

So does this mean that you should just give up?  Certainly not.  In this post we will discuss a few options that you can explore if you are in need of a 6000 personal loan, along with how each of these options works.

The first place that you should look for 6000 loans, even if you have bad credit is your local bank. I would suggest going to a local credit union or the healthier, smaller regional bank first, as they may have more custome programs and ability to help (most larger institutions are still reeling from the financial crisis). While you probably won't be able to get the loan if you have bad credit, you can always look into a guarantor loan, or a loan in which someone with better credit co-signs on the loan. In addition, it will help if you and/or the guarantor has the following:

• A good paying job. With good income it's always easier to get a loan.
• Having lived in the same area for a year or longer. Banks like to see longevity, as people who move around a lot are greater risks.
• Credit score of above 700 (for the guarantor/co-signer).

Each of these will help you increase your odds of getting a traditional loan from a bank, which should be your first option given that 1) it can be a long-term loan, and 2) you will get much better interest rates than you would with other options.

The second place you could look is with the payday or cash advance loan lenders. These lenders make loans to bad credit borrowers - that's what they do. As such the may be your only option if you are looking for a 6000 loan with bad credit. However, there are a few issues with these loans that you need to be aware of:

• Usually you cannot get anything greater than a 5000 loan from payday lenders. If you need the full $6000 loan, then you may be out of luck.
• They are extremely expensive. To borrow 6,000 for only two weeks you can expect to pay between 20% and 25% of the principle amount, or around $1,200 in interest and fees.
• As indicated above, payday loans are not meant to be longer term financing options. Do not take out this type of loan if you need the money for more than 2 weeks to 1 month.
• Make sure you do not pay more than the industry average of 450%-475% APR. Some companies will try to charge even more than that, which is completely absurd no matter what your credit rating is. Stay away from such companies.
• New legislation is on the horizon for payday loans. Just today, the senate passed a bill that will change the way and amount payday loan lenders will charge customers. As such, you will need to keep abreast of the market as the bill may make it so some lenders leave the industry.

Bottom line - you do have some option when it comes to $6,000 loans. You may need to look a little harder, and think outside the box a little bit, but it is possible.
